Leanne has a wide range of experience in public health care, sports injuries, pelvic health, biomechanics and postural dysfunction since graduating in 2008.
She has a keen interest in musculoskeletal biomechanics and has treated professional footballers, golfers and tennis players as well as successfully rehabilitating people back to ultra marathons and iron man competitions. Leanne’s interest in pelvic health started when her best friend had a particularly difficult pregnancy and she became aware of the lack of treatment and support for women suffering pelvic health issues. She decided to specialise in pelvic health and eventually set up the pelvic health clinic at Physio Forward. She treats anything from bladder and bowel dysfunction to assistance with return to exercise after pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain.
Leanne’s work within the corporate setting has included large companies such as Morgan Stanley, which has given her a great insight into the effects of posture and working biomechanics and their effect on injury recovery. She understands the challenges that face patients managing a busy work schedule with physical well-being.
In addition to Leanne’s skills in manual therapy and rehabilitation she is also a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and has undertaken courses to further her knowledge in this area.
